Purely by coincidence, my favorite posts this week are all about numbers, which is a bit ironic when you read through the last post. This is now the second week I am writing about my 5 favorite posts of the week. I got such great feedback from the authors and readers last week that unless I hear otherwise, I’d really like to keep doing this once a week. After all, it’s my job to spread good information out into the world…it doesn’t always mean that I have to be the one that writes it every time!
10 Things I Learned On My Twitter Journey To 100,000 Followers
Written by John Paul Aguiar
This one is a bit of a cheat because it was actually written and posted almost a year ago but I just read it for the first time this week when John reposted it on Twitter. I decided to include it in this weeks list for a few reasons. For one, it’s got some great advice about attracting quality Twitter followers as opposed to just a race to 100,000 followers. The other reason I wanted to include it is because there is a lesson in there somewhere about reusing your older content instead of just letting it die in your archives.
How to REALLY Follow Your Passion to the Bank: The $100 Startup Model
From ProBlogger, written by Chris Guillebeau
Years ago I had stumbled upon an e-book that Chris had written called “A Brief Guide to World Domination” that turned my life upside-down. OK, that’s probably a little over-dramatic. I just really liked it. Better? Since then I have read just about everything I could dig up by Chris and he never disappoints. This post about his new book $100 Startup (which I currently have on deck as my next read) and it is no exception.
How B2B Marketers Can Succeed on the 6 Big Social Networks
From HubSpot, written by Corey Eridon
I swear, I am not playing favorites. Corey had a post on last weeks list too. This was a really generous post. I know, it sounds like a weird thing to say about a blog post, but the information on each of the social networks written about could have very easily stood on its own making this a 6 post series. Instead, it’s an all in one 4,000+ word post that acts as a great resource for anyone wanting to make sure they are dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s in their social media campaigns.

From Social Media Examiner, written by By Marcus Sheridan
I’m a big fan of commenting on other blogs. There are so many benefits…you are building links from another valuable source, you are interacting with other like-minded people, you are putting yourself on other bloggers radars, etc. If you haven’t made a habit of commenting on at least 5 blog posts a day, start by reading this post to give you a solid foundation on the most effective way to do it and then get to commenting! It has a ton of great tips including lots of screenshots for you folks that just like to look at pretty pictures.
8,634,718 Simple Things You Can Do Today to Grow Your Business and Succeed
From Biznik, written by Ken Peters
You aren’t officially a blogger until you have written a “5 Ways to…” blog post. It’s a right of passage. This was really well written and kind of pokes fun at those types “3 easy steps” types of posts a bit. But on a more serious note it shines a flashlight on that feeling we all got at one point or another when we realized that it’s going to take a little more than 3 steps to get it done! Just the title alone makes me wish I wrote this one!
I hope you enjoyed this weeks favorites. If you have a post that you read or wrote this week that was really good, feel free to leave it in the comments below!
